Wine & Siena 2020: February 1/3 , Santa Maria della Scala
Wine & Siena 2020 inaugurates the annual agenda of the great food and wine events organized in the City of the Palio. The event, which this year will take place for the fifth time, is scheduled from 1 to 3 of February at Palazzo Squarcialupi, at the museum complex of Santa Maria della Scala. The event is curated by the organizers of the Merano WineFestival, together with Confcommercio di Siena and Siena – Arezzo Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Siena. During these three days the best food and wine products will be presented, and awarded with The WineHunter Award.

Also this year the event Wine & Siena will offer a bright showcase to numerous gastronomic excellences and will host various Italian exhibitors of the wine, food, spirits, beer and extrawine sectors. On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 of February the event will also be open to the public, while Monday 3 of February the day will be dedicated to sector operators, journalists and bloggers.
The event, in truth, will be officially inaugurated on the evening of Friday 31 of January, at 18:30, at the Rocca Salimbeni . At 20:00, however, an itinerant dinner is scheduled at Palazzo Squarcialupi with specialties from Siena’s restaurants to be combined with the wine proposals of Wine & Siena 2020. The price of the the aforementioned dinner on Friday 31 of January, called Small Plates Dinner, is 50 euro. Tickets are pre-sold at:

Saturday 1 February
11: 00-19: 00 Food and wine tours at Palazzo Squarcialupi near Santa Maria della Scala. For the whole day, visitors will be able to taste the best food and wine excellences awarded by The WineHunter and participate in free seminars on spirits, beers and oil.
12: 00-18: 00 Masterclasses at Palazzo Sansedoni – Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation. Guided tastings to discover tastes and secrets of wine excellence.
20:00 Gala dinner between villages and cellars at the Grand Hotel Continental – Starhotels Collection
Sunday 2 February
11: 00-19: 00 Food and wine tours at Palazzo Squarcialupi near Santa Maria della Scala. Also on Sunday, participants will be able to make expert tastings of the best food and wine excellence awarded by The WineHunter and attend free seminars on spirits, beers and oil.
11: 00-15: 00 Charity auction at the Grand Hotel Continental Starhotels Collection. From 11:00 onwards, display of the bottles and from 15:00 onwards, the auction organized by Rotary Siena, Siena Est and Rotaract Siena will start.
14: 00-18: 00 Masterclasses at Palazzo Sansedoni – Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation. Guided tastings of wine excellence.
Monday 3 February – Day reserved for sector operators and journalists
10: 00-16: 00 At the headquarters of Palazzo Squarcialupi, introduction of the companies and tasting of food and wine products
17:00 Closing press conference of Wine & Siena 2020 at the Sala delle Lupe of the Town Hall.
